In collaboration with the Mahija Parahita Nusantara Foundation, CCEP Indonesia organized the “CCEP Menyapa” event, a volunteer program that fostered a spirit of sharing, inspiration, and hope in September 2025. This CCEP volunteer program for children of waste pickers provided them with the opportunity to visit CCEP’s headquarters and experience learning in a professional work environment.
Through this activity, 20 children of waste workers from the Kampus Diakoneia Modern (KDM) community were invited to participate in an educational visit—or company trip —to CCEP’s headquarters. The primary goal of this activity was to provide them with a new perspective on the working world within a company and to inspire the children of KDM to continue daring to dream and strive for a better future.
This article will provide further details about the activities of the “CCEP Menyapa” event, which is collaborating with Mahija on this volunteer program. Read on for more information.
CCEP Reaches Out: Nurturing Dreams Through Inspiration and Creativity

For this initiative, Mahija partnered with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) Indonesia to launch a volunteer program that introduces children from waste-picking communities to the professional workplace. The program involved 20 children from Kampus Diakoneia Modern (KDM), an educational community for street children and children from waste-picking families.
The primary goal of the CCEP volunteer program for children of waste pickers through the “CCEP Menyapa” initiative is to broaden the children’s horizons regarding various professions and fields of work. By seeing a company’s work environment firsthand, they are expected to become more motivated to continue learning and pursuing their aspirations.
The event began with an opening session featuring an inspirational discussion with several representatives from CCEP’s headquarters. Participants in this session included Lucia Karina, Director of Public Affairs, Communications, and Sustainability; Linda Ch. Daryanto, Director of Customer Service & Supply Chain; and Suyono, Director of Business Process & Technology.
The three speakers greeted the participants and shared stories about their career journeys. They also shared their experiences regarding the challenges they faced in the workplace and encouraged the participants to keep striving, dare to dream, and never give up on their aspirations.

During this opening session, the children were also given the opportunity to ask questions directly to the speakers. One participant from KDM even asked about their career paths and what steps are necessary to achieve their current professional positions.
The participants’ enthusiasm during this discussion session demonstrates that the CCEP volunteer program for children of waste pickers has succeeded in sparking their curiosity and fostering a passion for learning.
The activities in the CCEP Menyapa program include not only inspirational sessions but also a variety of activities designed to provide participants with a learning experience that is both enjoyable and meaningful.
Some of the activities included in the CCEP volunteer program for child waste pickers are as follows.
1. Traditional Music Performance

Following the inspirational talk, the event continued with a traditional music performance by several children from the KDM community. This activity provided participants with an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents while building their confidence in performing in front of an audience.
During the performance, the children played traditional instruments such as the angklung, combined with the kolintang and traditional guitar. The atmosphere was warm and festive, and the performance was met with applause from the volunteers and organizers.
This initiative also demonstrates that CCEP’s volunteer program for children of waste pickers not only provides education about the working world but also supports the development of the children’s creativity and talents.
2. Painting on a Tote Bag
In addition to the art performances, another equally engaging activity was the tote bag painting session. During this activity, participants were invited to express their hopes and dreams through artwork centered on the theme “Reaching for Dreams.”
The children were free to express their visions of the future through colorful paintings on tote bags. The activity was full of energy, with the participants looking focused and enjoying the creative process.
Through this activity, CCEP’s volunteer program for children of waste pickers aims to provide a space for children to creatively express their dreams and hopes.
3. Explore Careers
One of the most anticipated activities at this event is the career exploration session. During this session, participants are taken on a tour of various work areas at CCEP’s headquarters to gain a better understanding of the activities and roles of the company’s various divisions.
In addition to learning about various roles within the company, participants were also invited to interact directly with CCEP employees. They were even challenged to collect signatures from several employees as part of the exploration activity.
This experience was a truly memorable moment for the participants. Through the CCEP volunteer program for children of waste pickers, the children were able to see firsthand what it’s like to work in an office and begin to envision their future possibilities in the professional world
4. Gift-Giving

To conclude the “CCEP Menyapa” event series, participants received various gifts intended to support their learning activities. These gifts included JBL speakers for use in learning activities, food packages for the KDM dormitory, and cell phones to support their studies and communication.
The participants seemed very happy and grateful for the opportunity they received through the CCEP volunteer program for children of waste pickers. In addition to gaining new and inspiring experiences, they also received support that will benefit their studies.
Conclusion
The CCEP volunteer program for children of waste pickers is a tangible expression of our commitment to providing inclusive and meaningful learning opportunities. We hope that initiatives like CCEP Menyapa will continue to create opportunities for more children to dream, dare to try, and believe that a bright future is always within reach.
