We believe that education is the key to creating a better future. Through the Membangun Harapan Indonesia (Building Hope for Indonesia) initiative, we are committed to empowering the children of waste pickers and workers through various programs, such as:
Informal waste workers, particularly waste pickers, play a crucial role in the recycling system but often face barriers in accessing physical and mental health services. Through the Semangat Sehat Mahija program, we provide health check-ups and access to medical care, which have so far reached more than 20.000 waste pickers and workers.
To ensure sustainability, we have also launched the Mahija Agent of Change, bringing regular health services to waste picker communities. By involving community leaders, this program aims to maintain consistent health support, improving their well-being and recognizing the significant role they play.
We believe that strategic partnerships with various stakeholders are key to driving behavioral change in waste recycling management. Through the Recycle in Action program, we actively participate in collecting waste, particularly PET bottles, and provide education to the community to ensure that waste is properly managed and recycled. These efforts aim to reduce the amount of waste ending up in landfills and to create a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
