Mahija’s Ramadan Journey with Multiple Partners

Mahija Parahita Nusantara’s movement is rooted in our commitment to the welfare of waste workers, acknowledging the significant contribution of waste pickers to the recycling system. Throughout our journey, we have been brought together with individuals and companies who share a similar vision: to improve the lives of waste pickers and their families through collaborative social initiatives.

In this holy month, Mahija is carrying out a series of activities with the supported communities to create meaningful moments of togetherness:

• Distributing more than 3,100 iftar meal packages and over 800 basic food packages to the field partners and recycling heroes spread across the areas of Collection Partners, Adopted Schools and waste picker communities through the ‘Ramadan Berbagi’ program. We also held health and safety training to provide guidance and reminders for waste pickers to work safely.

  

  • Warmly welcoming Ramadan with 100+ children from Sekolah Kami (Our School), in collaboration with the Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Indonesia team. We enjoyed moments of togetherness and witnessed the talents of the Sekolah Kami children playing the angklung, which concluded with breaking fast together.
    

    

  • Sharing and fostering connections with 100 children and 10 teachers at the Lumi Domus alternative school, with the contribution of PT FPT Software Indonesia. Joy radiated from the children who were enthusiastic about learning together and using donated educational tools to catch up on formal schooling, while also caring for the environment and developing their artistic talents.

    

   

  These moments are simple, yet meaningful. Within them, there is space to listen to each other, build togetherness, and foster hope—that every individual, regardless of their position, deserves attention and the opportunity to thrive.
