Do you know why every February 21 is celebrated as National Waste Awareness Day?

Reporting from the official website of the Probolinggo District Environmental Agency, the National Waste Care Day (HPSN) is a commemoration of the landslide at the Leuwigajah Cimahi Final Processing Site (TPA) which occurred on February 21, 2005.

Therefore, on this HPSN commemoration, Mahija Parahita Nusantara collaborated with Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Indonesia (CCEP) and Paxel Indonesia to hold a socialization activity on plastic waste sorting and invited the surrounding community to start collecting and sorting their own waste with the Desa Bestari program community group.

This activity is located in Cibitung Kaum Village, Sukadanau Village. The community participated by sorting and collecting their PET plastic bottle waste, putting it in a Paxel Recycle Bag, then sending it to one of Mahija's Collection Centers using Paxel's expedition services, which in turn the plastic bottles will be recycled.

Stay tuned for more Mahija programs and Happy National Waste Awareness Day February 21, 2022!
