BUILDING HOPE INDONESIA

Investing in Indonesia's Future.

We believe that education is the key to creating a better future. Through our Building Hope Indonesia initiative, we are committed to empowering the children of waste pickers and workers with various programs, such as:

  • Adopt a School: Supporting informal schools in waste picker communities to improve the quality of education. Currently, we have worked with 8 schools in Jakarta and surrounding areas, providing education to more than 1,200 students.
  • Scholarships: Providing scholarships to outstanding children to help them achieve academic success. In 2024, we have provided scholarships to more than 90 children at various levels of education.
  • Mobile School: Bringing education directly to the community, ensuring proper access to learning for all children, including workers. Currently, one mobile school car is operating in Jakarta and surrounding areas.

HEALTHY SPIRIT MAHIJA

Informal waste workers, especially waste pickers, play an important role in the recycling system, but often face barriers in accessing physical and mental health services. Through our Semangat Sehat Mahija program, we provide health check-ups and access to medical care, which to date has reached more than 20,000 waste pickers and workers.

To ensure sustainability, we also launched Mahija Agent of Change, which brings regular healthcare services to waste picker communities. With the involvement of community leaders, the program aims to maintain consistent health support, to improve their wellbeing and appreciate the great role they play.

RECYCLE IN ACTION

We believe that strategic partnerships with various parties are key to driving behavioral change in recycling waste management. Through the Recycle in Action program, we play an active role in collecting waste, especially PET bottles, and educating the community to ensure that the waste is properly managed and recycled appropriately. This effort aims to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and create a cleaner and more sustainable environment.
